2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox recalled infielder Jeter Downs from Triple-A on Monday. Downs was hitting .180 with a .297 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and 11 stolen bases in 222 plate appearances for Boston's Triple-A affiliate this season. With experience at both shortstop and second base, he'll give the Red Sox some additional middle infield depth behind starters Xander Bogaerts and Trevor Story. Right-handed relief pitcher James Norwood was designated for assignment to open up a spot on the active roster for Downs.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
