Brandon Lowe Expected To Resume Swinging Tuesday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe (back) recently had a setback when his back began bothering him while hitting in the cages, and he was scheduled to be shut down until June 20. But he resumed rotational exercises before that and is expected to resume swinging a bat on Tuesday. Manager Kevin Cash said there isn't a timetable for Lowe's return. The 27-year-old initially went on the injured list with a stress reaction in his lower back and has been out since May 16, so he could require a lengthy minor league rehab assignment before he's back. Lowe is probably a couple of weeks away, so fantasy managers need to remain patient. Before the injury, he was slashing just .212/.293/.415 with five home runs, 12 RBI and a stolen base in 32 games played.
