2 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Luis Patino (oblique) allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three over 46 pitches and 2 2/3 innings on June 16 with Triple-A Durham. Skipper Kevin Cash said that Patino felt healthy, and his fastball velocity was strong. The 22-year-old will continue to build up his endurance with a four-inning outing scheduled with Durham on Tuesday. He'll likely need to get to the point where he can work five or six innings before rejoining Tampa's starting rotation. Patino suffered a left oblique strain after throwing only 13 pitches in his season debut on April 11 against the Oakland Athletics.
