Zach Eflin Expected To Start This Weekend
2 years agoThe plan is for Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin (knee) to pitch as scheduled this weekend against the San Diego Padres. Eflin will test his knee during a bullpen session on Thursday and the Phillies will know more then, but as of right now, fantasy managers should expect him to pitch this weekend. The 28-year-old right-hander was limited to just two innings in his last start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals due to a lingering right knee bruise, but the injury has been downplayed since. Eflin allowed four runs in the loss to the Nats, and even though his injury isn't serious, he'll be a pretty risk start if he pitches this weekend against San Diego. In 12 starts this year, he's gone 2-5 with a 4.43 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 53 strikeouts and 13 walks in 63 innings pitched.
