2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (back) will go for an MRI exam, but the plan for now is for him to remain with the Mets in Miami, according to manager Buck Showalter. Carrasco left his start early on Wednesday against the Houston Astros with lower back tightness. The 35-year-old right-hander only lasted 2 1/3 innings before he was pulled against Houston, and his next start is very much in question. Whether Carrasco will need to go on the injured list will likely depend on the results of his MRI exam, and we should have a better idea of his status moving forward on Thursday morning. The good news for the Mets rotation is that Max Scherzer (oblique) could return this Sunday, but they've surely had bad luck with injuries to their starters in 2022. Carrasco should be stashed everywhere if he goes on the IL, as he's 8-2 with a 3.96 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 75 K's in 75 innings over 13 innings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
