Kenny Pickett Signs Rookie Deal
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers signed first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett to a four-year rookie deal on Thursday, according to a source. Pickett came into this year's draft as the most pro-ready signal-caller, but he'll have to beat out Mitchell Trubisky in training camp for the starting gig in his rookie season. The most likely scenario is that Trubisky is starting in Week 1, with Pickett getting his first shot if Trubisky falls flat early on. The 24-year-old threw for 4,319 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his final year in college, and he can also be a threat running the football. The Steelers are hoping he's the long-term solution after Ben Roethlisberger retired last year.
