Manuel Margot May Avoid Surgery
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays skipper Kevin Cash said that outfielder Manuel Margot's right knee issue is with the patellar tendon and not his ACL. The team continues to gather information, but from what they've heard, they're "trending toward being optimistic" that Margot won't need surgery. It's good news, but the 27-year-old is on the 60-day injured list and will still miss at least two months after crashing into the outfield wall earlier this week. He had become a must-start fantasy asset this year, too, as Margot was hitting .302/.365/.423 with three home runs, 27 RBI, 21 runs scored and five stolen bases in 182 at-bats before the injury. With both Margot and Kevin Kiermaier sidelined, Josh Lowe and Vidal Brujan should be in the Rays lineup mostly every day moving forward.
