Jake Meyers Activated From Injured List
2 years agoThe Houston Astros reinstated outfielder Jake Meyers (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list on Friday and optioned outfielder Jose Siri to Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Outfielder Dillon Thomas was also designated for assignment. Meyers will make his season debut on Friday in center field while batting ninth against New York Yankees right-hander Luis Severino. The 26-year-old had offseason surgery on his shoulder and hasn't played yet in 2022. He slashed .260/.323/.438 with six home runs, 28 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases in 49 games last year in his rookie season, and he's likely to fill a utility role for Houston, with occasional starts in center field.
