2 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk (hand) is back in the starting lineup on Saturday against Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup. Kirk injured his left hand when he was hit by a backswing on Friday, but X-rays came back negative and he will return to the starting lineup Saturday. The 23-year-old has taken advantage of his playing time this year and is hitting .321/.406/.513 overall with a .919 OPS, nine home runs, 28 RBI and 34 runs scored in 224 plate appearances over 61 games. He's gone deep in each of the last three games, including a 4-for-4 performance on Friday night. Hopefully his hand injury won't slow him down.
