2 years agoAs expected, the Houston Astros activated rookie shortstop Jeremy Pena (thumb) from the injured list and optioned outfielder Chas McCormick to Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Fantasy managers will want to get Pena back into their lineups immediately, as he's back at shortstop and hitting sixth on Sunday against New York Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes. The 24-year-old has been out since June 13 with left thumb discomfort. He didn't require a minor league rehab assignment, but he'll be returning to a .277/.333/.471 slash line with an .805 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases in his first 54 major league games.
