Phillies Put Bryce Harper On Injured List
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies officially placed outfielder Bryce Harper (thumb) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a fractured left thumb and recalled outfielder Mickey Moniak from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. Harper fractured his left thumb when he was hit by a pitch on Saturday against the San Diego Padres, and he'll be out indefinitely. It's a tough blow for Harper and his fantasy managers. The 29-year-old has been playing most of this year as the primary designated hitter because of a right elbow injury, but it hadn't affected his swing, as he's hitting .318/.385/.599 with a .985 OPS, 15 home runs, 48 RBI, 49 runs scored and nine stolen bases. Harper needs to be stashed everywhere. Moniak will battle for playing time in center field with Odubel Herrera and Matt Vierling.
