Josh Naylor Takes A Seat For Game 1
2 years agoCleveland Guardians outfielder Josh Naylor is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins. It makes sense to give Naylor some rest in Game 1 against Twins left-hander Devin Smeltzer. The 25-year-old is hitting just .196 (10-for-51) on the year against southpaws. Naylor has been solid this year, though, and he's gone 12-for-36 (.333) with a homer, six RBI and a stolen base in 10 games over the last two weeks. He'll likely be back in the lineup for the second game of the twin bill. Owen Miller is starting at first base in Game 1 and is hitting seventh in the batting order. Miller is slashing .255/.309/.395 this year with four home runs, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored and a stolen base in 220 at-bats.
