2 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino is making his major league debut against Texas Rangers right-hander Jon Gray on Tuesday, serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth in the order. Pasquantino is a left-handed hitting first baseman that MLB Pipeline has ranked as the Royals' No. 3 prospect. The 24-year-old was hitting .280/.372/.576 with a .948 OPS, 18 home runs, 67 RBI, 51 runs scored and even three stolen bases in 69 games for Triple-A Omaha before his call-up. He should be a lineup regular moving forward for the rebuilding Royals, and he's worth an immediate pickup in deep mixed and AL-only leagues for his consistent extra-base prowess.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
