David Peterson Starting Friday
2 years agoNew York Mets left-hander David Peterson will make the start on Friday against the Texas Rangers after the team placed right-hander Chris Bassitt on the injured list with a non-injury issue. Peterson, who has a solid 3.10 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with 50 strikeouts in 11 games (nine starts), will be on normal rest after not pitching since June 26. In that outing against the Miami Marlins, he allowed only two runs on four hits while walking none and striking out eight in seven strong innings. Peterson has a 3.35 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 44 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings over his nine starts for the Mets, and you could certainly do worse than the southpaw as a streamer in fantasy on Friday night.
