2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) is going back on the injured list on Friday with right ankle inflammation. It's the same issue that cost DeSclafani two months already this season. Jason Vosler will now make the start on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox. Skipper Gabe Kapler said "there's real concern" with DeSclafani's ankle and said that "everything is on the table" when asked about possible surgery. Jakob Junis will be an option soon for the Gigantes rotation, but until then, the team might have to go with a couple bullpen games. DeSclafani has an ugly 9.95 ERA (21 earned runs) in just 19 innings over five starts, and he was plastered for seven earned runs in just 2 2/3 innings in his last start on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds. It's been a disappointing year after he went 13-7 with a 3.17 ERA in 31 starts for San Fran in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
