2 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman (leg) was removed from his start early on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of a doubleheader after taking a comebacker off his leg. Before departing, Gausman fired two scoreless innings while walking one and striking out three. The 31-year-old has been great in his first season in Toronto after making the All-Star team for the first time in his career in 2021 with the San Francisco Giants. Entering Saturday, Gausman had a 2.93 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with a league-leading 1.69 FIP, 97 strikeouts and only 15 walks in 86 innings over 15 starts.
