Aaron Judge Taking Sunday Off
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians. Judge will get the day off after starting both of the games in Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians, when he went just 1-for-7 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, a stolen base and two strikeouts. The 30-year-old slugger is the clear favorite for American League MVP honors to this point in the season, as he's hitting .282/.360/.619 with a .979 OPS, a league-leading 29 home runs, 59 RBI, a league-leading 64 runs scored, six stolen bases and a league-leading 182 total bases in 77 games. Marwin Gonzalez is playing left field and batting ninth against Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie on Sunday. The veteran is a low-upside DFS play in the nine-hole who is hitting .253 on the year with three homers and nine RBI in 99 at-bats.
