2 years agoThe New York Mets plan on placing left-hander David Peterson ton the paternity list on Sunday after he left for Colorado on Saturday. Peterson will be out for a maximum of three days, so it gives the Mets flexibility to add an extra arm when they actually need one. The 26-year-old posted a quality start and a win in his last outing on Friday against the Texas Rangers, when he gave up three runs on five hits while walking none and striking out a season-high 10 batters in six innings. He's been very solid for the Mets this year given all of the injuries that have hit their starting rotation, as he's 5-1 with a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 60 strikeouts and 22 walks in 58 1/3 innings over 12 appearances (10 starts). Peterson will rejoin the rotation when he returns from the paternity list.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
