Jonathan Villar Hitting Leadoff Against Houston
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder Jonathan Villar is starting at second base and is hitting in the leadoff spot in his debut with the team on Sunday against the Houston Astros. Villar signed with the Angels on Friday after hitting .222/.271/.327 with two home runs, 15 RBI, 19 runs scored and six stolen bases in 166 plate appearances and 46 games for the Chicago Cubs. The Angels are hoping that the 31-year-old veteran can give them some kind of spark atop the lineup in front of superstar Mike Trout. Villar is no longer in the prime of his career, but he's still worth a roster spot in deep mixed and AL-only leagues for his speed.
