Jacob deGrom Strikes Out Five In First Rehab Outing
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (shoulder) made Single-A hitters look silly in his first minor league rehab start with Single-A St. Lucie on Sunday. deGrom didn't allow a hit or a run while walking none and striking out five in just 1 2/3 innings. The only batter that didn't strike out against him was hit by a pitch. The 34-year-old right-hander looked good in his first live action since July 7 of last season. He also was able to hit triple digits on the radar gun with his fastball on seven of his pitches. While deGrom is gearing up for his season debut with the Mets, he's still expected to need three to five rehab starts before rejoining New York's rotation, so fantasy managers will need to be patient with the fantasy ace a little bit longer.
