Ha-Seong Kim Sitting On Tuesday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Ha-Seong Kim is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. Kim is taking a seat after playing in the last 17 games for the Friars. He's been good in the last week, going 8-for-22 (.364) with a home run and two RBI in seven games, but overall he's been pretty mediocre with a .233/.322/.356 slash line with five home runs, 27 RBI, 31 runs scored and four stolen bases in 289 plate appearances over 74 games while filling in for the injured Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist). With Manny Machado back from his ankle sprain, it will be Kim manning the 6 more often than not over rookie C.J. Abrams, who is starting at shortstop and batting ninth on Tuesday against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. Abrams has a difficult matchup and has gone just 20-for-97 (.206) with a homer, seven RBI and one steal in his first 33 big-league games.
