Nathan Eovaldi Faces Live Hitters In Batting Practice
2 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (back) is throwing live batting practice at Fenway Park on Tuesday. Eovaldi went on the injured list with lower back inflammation on June 12, but he's made slow progress in his recovery. However, it's a good sign that he's progressed to facing live hitters after recently throwing two successful bullpen sessions. Given how long the 32-year-old right-hander has been out, it's likely that he'll need at least one minor league rehab start before he rejoins Boston's rotation. He needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats, as he had a 3.16 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 72 strikeouts and 10 walks in 68 1/3 innings over 12 starts before his injury.
