2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Monday and is scheduled to throw another one on Thursday. Cabrera was scheduled to make a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on June 22, but that never happened due to a personal issue. He was placed on the injured list on June 15 and last pitched for Miami on June 12, when he went a season-low 3 2/3 innings in his third start of the year. The 24-year-old also had right biceps fatigue in early April. Cabrera might be ready to start a rehab assignment after his bullpen session, but at this rate, it's unlikely he'll be back to close out the first half of the season. In his three starts this year, Cabrera has allowed six earned runs on 10 hits while walking nine and striking out 15 in 15 2/3 innings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
