Cristopher Sanchez Picks Up First Win
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez picked up his first win of the season in an 11-0 beatdown of the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Sanchez allowed no runs on just two hits while walking two and striking out two in five innings of work to drop his ERA to 3.48 on the season in 20 2/3 innings over nine appearances (two starts). It was the 25-year-old southpaw's first start since May 8, but he'll likely stick around in Philly's starting rotation with Ranger Suarez (back) and Zach Eflin (knee) still on the shelf. Sanchez is worth a look in deeper leagues for rotation depth until Suarez and Eflin return. Last year in 12 2/3 innings, he had a 4.97 ERA and 1.82 WHIP with 13 strikeouts and seven walks.
