Chris Bassitt Listed As Probable Starter For Friday
2 years agoThe New York Mets have right-hander Chris Bassitt listed as their probable pitcher for Friday's game against the Miami Marlins, which pushes Max Scherzer's next start to Monday against the Atlanta Braves. Bassitt landed on the COVID-19 injured list last week and he hasn't started for New York since June 25, so he'll be extra risky for fantasy purposes. The 33-year-old went 2-3 with a 4.70 ERA while walking seven and striking out 35 in his five June starts, and he's 6-5 overall with a 4.01 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 95 strikeouts and 26 walks in 89 2/3 frames over his 15 starts in 2022. Bassitt is worth rostering in the majority of fantasy formats with his career-high 25.8% strikeout rate on the season.
