Max Fried Removed Early In Win Over Cards
2 years agoAtlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (glute) was sharp in the team's 3-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday, but he was removed early as a precaution due to tightness in his right glute after allowing no runs on five hits while walking one and striking out four over six innings pitched for his ninth win of the season. As of now, the Braves expect him to make his next scheduled start next Monday against the division-rival New York Mets, but it's something to keep an eye on for fantasy managers. The 28-year-old southpaw has been nearly unhittable in his last four starts, and overall he's 9-2 with a 2.52 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 100 strikeouts and only 17 walks in 107 1/3 innings over 17 games started.
