Chase Edmonds Lined Up To Be Lead Back
2 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Chase Edmonds signed a two-year, $12.6 million deal this offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, and it seems like he's going to enter the year as Miami's lead back. Edmonds has plenty of versatility and should see the majority of the opportunities, but he'll also be splitting touches with Sony Michel and Raheem Mostert (if healthy). Mostert has averaged 5.7 yards per attempt in his career, but he's only played in 59 games in seven seasons due to injuries. Michel can be a successful change-of-pace back with a winning pedigree. Myles Gaskin is expected to drop to fourth on the depth chart and will be fighting for a roster spot in training camp. Fantasy managers probably shouldn't consider Edmonds as much more than an RB3/flex play on draft day, but he could wind up being a great value pick if he keeps the lead-back role and Mostert doesn't stay healthy.
