2 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers (knee) said he will run the bases to test his knee on Thursday and will also shag fly balls for a few days before the team discusses his next steps on his rehab. If Myers feels fine over the next couple days, there's a good chance he'll be cleared to begin a minor league rehab assignment. The 31-year-old has been out since early June with right knee inflammation, and his knee has plagued him for much of the season to this point. It shows in his numbers, as he was hitting .234/.276/.306 with one homer, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored in 124 at-bats. Nomar Mazara has been great for the Friars filling in in right field, so Myers' playing time could be sporadic once he returns from the injured list if Mazara continues to hit.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
