Seranthony Dominguez Picks Up His Third Save
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-hander Seranthony Dominguez pitched a perfect ninth inning with a strikeout to close out the 5-3 win against the Washington Nationals on Thursday. After missing almost the entirety of 2021, he's been in the best form of his career, pitching to a 1.74 ERA and 0.81 WHIP with 40 strikeouts over 31 innings. Although it marks just his third save of the season, Dominguez earned all of them after June 17, around when Corey Knebel was demoted from the closer role. It's looking like the 27-year-old has become the new ace of the bullpen and should get the majority of save opportunities.
