Robert Tonyan Up In The Air For Week 1
2 years agoIt remains unclear whether Green Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan (knee), who rehabbed on the side during voluntary organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, will be ready for Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. Tonyan tore his ACL in the fourth quarter of the team's Week 8 contest last year. "He's a vertical threat. He's a sure-handed guy," head coach Matt LaFleur said of Tonyan this offseason. "What was it, he had about a 90 percent completion rate the year before?" Tonyan will likely start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, but it doesn't mean he won't be ready for the start of the regular season. The 28-year-old will be a TE2 target in drafts because of his injury, but he'll have TE1 upside if he's ready by Week 1 and can stay healthy after tying Travis Kelce for the league lead among TEs in 2020 with 11 touchdowns.
