Adam Wainwright Takes Loss In Complete Game
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright went all the way Friday night, throwing a complete game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He allowed two runs on five hits and no walks while recording three strikeouts. The offense couldn't offer him even a run of support, however, and Wainwright was handed his seventh loss of the season to go with six wins. Wainwright has pitched at least into the seventh inning in six of his last eight starts, which underscores his value in the current fantasy baseball landscape. There are very few pitchers who offer such regular volume, and thus an opportunity for wins. Wainwright has a 3.15 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 84 strikeouts in 105 2/3 innings this year.
