2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains with the team after months of trade rumblings. The veteran has been linked to possible deals with several clubs throughout the offseason. Interestingly, the Buccaneers are the latest team rumored to be looking to acquire Garoppolo, with the signal-calling then expected to serve as Tom Brady's backup, a relationship the duo is quite familiar with from their time in New England. However, when Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times was asked about a potential reunion, he responded emphatically, "not a chance." Nonetheless, with a lack of suitors, there appears to be a shot Garoppolo could remain in the Bay Area in 2022-23. Trey Lance is still expected to start. However, if the sophomore gets sidelined for whatever reason, Garoppolo may be back under center. Yet, he's not worth adding to any fantasy roster anytime soon.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
