2 years agoSan Francisco Giants' third baseman Evan Longoria (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment on Thursday. The veteran has been sidelined since July 6 with an oblique strain. Barring any setbacks, he would return shortly after the All-Star break. The 36-year-old slashed .242/.331/.462 with eight home runs, 18 RBI, and 18 runs scored across 44 games in 2022 before being placed on the injured list. David Villar will continue to handle third base duties while Longoria is sidelined. Villar is hitting .250 with one homer and two RBI over 27 plate appearances in 2022.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
