Jose Altuve Exits Early After Hit By Pitch
2 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (knee) exited Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Angels early after being hit by a pitch in the knee during the first inning. He limped towards first base after the HBP and was eventually removed from Thursday's game. The severity of Altuve's injury is unknown, and the 32-year-old is considered day-to-day. Mauricio Dubon replaced Altuve in the game and will handle second base duties on Thursday. Dubon would see an uptick in at-bats while Altuve is sidelined but is slashing .210/.246/.315 across 136 plate appearances in 2022.
