2 years agoNew York Yankees utility man Matt Carpenter hit his 11th home run of the season Thursday, a two-run shot to pull the team within one run in the bottom of the 10th inning of a 7-6 loss. He was 1-for-3 with the homer, a walk, and two runs scored on the day. Carpenter batted fifth and played right field in this contest, with every game in the outfield helping to answer the question of whether he will manage to garner enough playing time to be a useful fantasy option. The answer is a resounding yes thus far, as Carpenter has a 1.319 OPS in 79 at-bats across his first 28 games of the season.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
