2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo had three hits Thursday against the Chicago Cubs, falling a triple short of the cycle as he tallied a home run, a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored in an 8-0 victory. Nimmo has been quietly excellent out of the leadoff spot all season, slashing .275/.361/.447 with nine homers, 56 runs scored, and 33 RBI in 348 plate appearances. Four of his nine home runs have come in his last 15 games, and fantasy managers could reasonably expect that Nimmo may make a run at his career-high of 17 blasts set in 2018, though it seems his days as a base stealer are behind him with just two attempts this year, both of which were unsuccessful.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
