2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Anthony Bender (back) is scheduled to make a rehab appearance on Sunday for Single-A Jupiter. Bender has been on the injured list since May with a back injury but he appears on track to return to the Marlins sometime after the All-Star break. The 27-year-old has made 16 appearances for Miami, posting a 1-3 record, 4.50 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, six saves, and 13 strikeouts over 14 innings of work. Bender was in the mix for saves before the injury but Tanner Scott has done a decent job as the team's closer in the meantime, making it likely that Bender will bump down to a role as a middle reliever when he's ready to return.--Matt T - RotoBaller
