Cole Irvin Holds Astros To One Run
2 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin recorded the win in the 5-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Friday after he pitched six innings, gave up one run, struck out four, and walked only one batter. It was an impressive performance for the left-hander, and his third quality start in a row. Irvin owns a 4-7 record, 3.21 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 16.1% strikeout rate across 16 starts. For someone who was barely drafted, fantasy managers should be happy with his numbers. Irvin won't make much of a difference in shallow leagues, but he can give managers a boost in deep and AL-only leagues.
