Baker Mayfield Receives Support From Former Coach
2 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield received more negative press after being traded by Cleveland in early July. With former teammates calling the signal-caller "childish and immature" for various reasons, former Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens came to the 2018 No. 1 overall pick's defense, stating his passion for winning is "an attribute." Nonetheless, with Mayfield now with a new team, he'll have a chance to start fresh. He's expected to battle Sam Darnold for the starting gig throughout training camp. However, considering the 27-year-old will have Christian McCaffrey and D.J. Moore at his disposal, assuming he starts, he has an excellent shot of turning things around in Carolina this season.
