2 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks has been added to the American League All-Star roster as a replacement for New York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole. Hendriks has been great at the back end of Chicago's bullpen in 2022, going 1-2 with a 2.35 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, 18 saves, 45 strikeouts and just eight walks in 30 2/3 innings pitched. He's tied for ninth in all of baseball with Detroit Tigers closer Gregory Soto with 18 saves heading into the final game of the first half of the season on Sunday. The biggest thing is that Hendriks hasn't shown any issues after returning from a forearm injury that sidelined him for almost a full month.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
