Mike Trout Won't Play In All-Star Game
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back), who has been out the last four games due to back spasms, will not play in Tuesday's All-Star game in Los Angeles. He's being replaced on the American League roster by Seattle Mariners first baseman Ty France, and Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton will start in Trout's place Tuesday. The three-time AL MVP was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he said that his back didn't feel right while swinging in the cages before the game. Trout remains a must-start in fantasy, but he has only one multi-hit game and six RBI in the last three weeks. He'll finish the first half of the season with a .270/.368/.599 slash line, a .967 OPS, 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored and one stolen base in 79 games.
