2 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan will start for the American League in Tuesday's All-Star game at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. McClanahan has been one of the best pitchers in the AL in just his second MLB season, going 10-3 with a league-leading 1.71 ERA, a league-leading 0.79 WHIP, a league-leading 212 ERA+, 147 strikeouts and just 19 walks in 110 2/3 innings over his 18 starts. In his final outing of the first half, he gave up just one run while striking out six in 6 1/3 innings over the Boston Red Sox. The 25-year-old is one of just five pitchers in baseball to tally 10 wins in the first half of the season, and he's a young emerging star for the Rays.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
