Chris Sale Undergoes Surgery On Finger
2 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (finger) underwent an open reduction and internal fixation of a left fifth finger proximal phalanx fracture on Monday, according to the team. Sale fractured his left pinkie finger on a comebacker from New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks on Sunday, and he'll now be forced to miss around the next two months after just recently making his 2022 season debut after returning from a rib-cage fracture. It's been that kind of year for the 33-year-old southpaw, and although he's optimistic that he'll pitch again this year, fantasy managers in shallow mixed leagues might have no choice but to drop him for the start of the second half of the season.
