2 years agoThe New York Yankees selected Vanderbilt outfielder Spencer Jones, who stands at 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds, with the 25th overall pick of the 2022 MLB draft on Sunday. The Yankees have had success with tall outfielders of late in Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, so why not stick with the formula? Jones has a great mix of size and athleticism, and his combination of bat speed, strength and leverage gives him heaps of raw power from the left side of the plate. Despite his size, he can cover a lot of ground in right field and has average arm strength. The 21-year-old will obviously be a great fit for the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium whenever he's able to reach the big leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
