Giants Close Out First Round With Reggie Crawford
2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants closed out the first round of Sunday's 2022 MLB draft by taking Connecticut left-hander/first baseman Reggie Crawford with the 30th overall pick. Crawford is certainly a high-upside, high-risk selection, even at this point in the first round. He stands at 6-foot-4 and is left-handed with an elite fastball and a nasty slider on the mound. However, scouts haven't seen him throw that much after he missed all of the 2022 season. Crawford threw only eight innings in his college career and had Tommy John surgery before the 2022 collegiate season began. There's a chance the Giants will let him hit for a bit early in his professional career while he continues to rehab his prized left arm. The 21-year-old will mostly likely make his living as a hurler.
