2 years agoNew York Mets All-Star closer Edwin Diaz, who will become a free agent after this season, said he wants to remain with the team. "I would love to stay [a Met]," Diaz said. The 28-year-old right-hander has been one of the best late-inning relievers in baseball this year and was named to his second All-Star team by going 2-1 with a 1.69 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 20 saves in 37 1/3 innings pitched in the first half. He also has a career-high 51.7% strikeout rate and 8.3% walk rate. Diaz is averaging two strikeouts per inning pitched, which is incredible. Fantasy managers can keep Diaz locked into their starting lineups moving forward.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
