Corey Seager Not Starting Thursday
2 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is not in the starting lineup on Thursday to begin the second half of the season against the Miami Marlins. Seager will get the day off after he took part in the Home Run Derby and All-Star game earlier this week. He was named to his third All-Star team in his first year in Texas by hitting .251/.324/.480 with an .804 OPS, 22 home runs, 52 RBI, 48 runs scored and three stolen bases in 88 games. Seager should be back in the lineup on Friday. Marcus Semien will move from second base to shortstop and is batting second, while Charlie Culberson will start at the keystone and hit ninth against Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez. Culberson is still searching for his first home run of the season in 82 at-bats.
