Brandon Belt Back At First Base
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) is starting at first base and hitting second on Thursday against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Mitch White to open the second half of the season. Belt was mostly serving as the designated hitter to close out the first half while playing through some nagging knee issues, so it's a good sign that he's feeling better after the All-Star break. The 34-year-old left-handed hitter has been much better against right-handers this year, going 36-for-137 (.263) with seven of his eight home runs and 16 RBI. Belt is also hitting .407 (11-for-27) with three home runs and six RBI in nine games over the last two weeks, so fantasy managers are hoping he'll pick up where he left off.
