2 years agoBaltimore Orioles shortstop Jackson Holliday, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, agreed on a record deal for a high school player on Thursday, signing for just a touch over No. 2 pick Druw Jones' $8.185 million deal. Holliday is a shortstop from Oklahoma and is also the son of former major-league outfielder Matt Holliday. The 18-year-old will take some time to get to the big leagues, but he's flush with tools and is projected to be a five-tool shortstop that hits from the left side. Because of his plus speed, he should be able to stick at the 6 long term, and he already has home run power to all fields.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
