2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi (elbow) is scheduled to throw against live hitters during batting practice on Friday. The 29-year-old hasn't pitched all season as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. It sounds like Lucchesi is nearing a rehab assignment. That being said, there's a chance Lucchesi rejoins the Mets roster as early as next month. It's uncertain whether or not Lucchesi will rejoin the team as a starter or in a bullpen role.
